Space Station Incubation Program (SSIP) 2020

Great time spent with a few Startup Founders at the Space Station Nigeria today 10th March 2020, on the initiative “Space Station Incubation Program (SSIP) 2020”.👌

Many Thanks to Quincy Jibril 🙏😊

While on the quest to learn about “The Google Platform & How It Supports Small Businesses”💝, we explored and demystified the following:

(a) The startup founders wanted to know the value the GBG Community can deliver – The GBG success stories led the way. Videos of Alter Youth, Kok Bisa, Kullabs and Start, Grow and Scale your Startup with GBG were very insightful.

(b) The benefits of Google My Business allowed the founders to discover the importance of displaying operating and business hours, phone numbers, and also the enhancement of online visibility and directions on both Google Search and Maps.

(c) We explored the power of Ads i.e. Google Ads, YouTube Ads and Facebook & Instagram Ads.

(d) The founders in addition also saw the productivity that G Suite offers via Customized Gmail, Hangouts, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides e.t.c and also the Google Cloud Platform for other services.

(e) The question “How can we get FREE website” came up. Google Sites was already waiting in anticipation for a hug.

(f) How can I know when my website is crawled? How can you measure the speed of your website, or know if there are issues, or probably where your customers traffics are coming from?

We explored the Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights and Google Analytics.

(g) How can we keep in touch with people of like-minded interests? Well, we had to unveil the Developer Communities and initiatives i.e. GDG, DSC, GBG, GDE, Women Techmakers, Google Developer Launchpad e.t.c.

(h) I noticed the questions were never going to end anytime soon, and it’s possible they are hooked by an infinite loop.🥰

My recommendation was simple –

Just Grow with Google 😋😊, and you can always leverage on the free training, tools, and resources to help you and your team(s) grow your skills, career, or business.

That’s It – CONNECT . INFORM . INSPIRE 🙏😊

Africa Code Week 2017

Over the next 25 years, Africa’s working-age population will double to one billion, exceeding that of China and India. In the meantime, the digital skills gap is widening: while coding has the power to put millions of young Africans on the path to successful careers and empower them to build sustainable growth, companies in Africa are currently struggling to hire enough qualified IT talent. So the question is not whether a full life cycle of skills support for young people in Africa needs to be created, but when. Africa Code Week says: NOW.
