The rankings are determined based on 13 indicators which cut across 11 subject domain areas

Reflecting on the data from the most recent Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2022, which featured 2,112 universities across 111 countries. Looking at the countries with the highest and lowest numbers of universities participation. The first 5 countries - the United States (US) 188, Japan 184, United Kingdom (UK) 158, Russian Federation 100, China 97, India 89, and the lowest participation, 25 countries had only one (1) university each that participated -  Fiji, Cuba, Jamaica, Qatar, Moldova, Mongolia, Malta, Kuwait, Venezuela, Montenegro, Namibia, Cambodia, Benin, Libya, Uruguay, Brunei Darussalam, Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Luxembourg, Puerto Rico, Ethiopia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
