Why the Google (Gugu) Assistant told Lasisi Elenu to “Head North” by Aderogba Otunla

Why the Google (Gugu) Assistant told Lasisi Elenu to “Head North” by Aderogba Otunla

I am a fan of high-end creativity, and I love when Nigerians create contents filled with humor, which is also informative for people to learn about technology.

I got a buzz from Sir Al (Alhamdu Bello) from the United Kingdom of a YouTube video titled “WHEN GUGU DECIDES TO CONFUSE YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY” by the renowned celebrity called Lasisi Elenu.

Also shortly as I started watching the video which was filled with so much engaging conversational drama, I saw another buzz from D’Willy (William Onen) with a similar link via WhatsApp, then of-course I have every reason to watch and also reflect on the great content.

The short humorous video is found via this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMehe58DYtw on his YouTube page, which has about 85.8k subscribers as at the time of this writing.

He has a unique style which embraces the attitude of vexation as he engages with the Google Assistant (he calls it Gugu) on his way to an important job interview.

Well, apparently according to the video, I guess he missed his precious job interview or was late for the interview, but the journey through the ordeal created some closure of him and the Assistant.

Starting with the popular wit “Some just happen right now”
He got into his car and appealed to the Assistant for the fastest route to Ebute Metta in Lagos, Nigeria.

Mimicking the female Assistant, OK Ebute Metta? Let’s go!
More like he felt assured of the actual destination.

Of-course, guided through Google Maps – “Turn-Right, Turn-Left” e.t.c

Above all the words “Head North” and he replied “I North”.
The tension began to grow when the phrase “Head North” was repetitive for a while.

He claimed he circled the round-about multiple times, about 20 times to be exact, and at the 20th circle he realized he was stuck at the same location.

He regained consciousness that something was missing referring by making jest of a passerby lady.

Somehow the keywords “Head North” might have increased the frustration, and apparently there is also a Nigerian celebrity called “Tunde Head North”.

Well, at this point he felt he and the Assistant should engage in some deep conversation to back trace where the problem (mis-direction) might have emerged.

He started questioning the Assistant in the most dramatic and comical way.

He asked, OK Google where did I tell you I was going to?

The Assistant replied, sorry if there was a delay, I might be a little slow sometimes.

Here, he comes with storms of curses cursing the Assistant
Switching the context of the conversation to relationship

He asked, OK Google - Are you in a relationship?

Well, now no one can predict where the conversation was headed.

The Assistant replied:
I am focusing on my career right now, and some how she happens to also be engaged in a committed relationship, replying with my job as an Assistant.

Repeated cursing continued on the Assistant, he even sang for the Assistant, very convinced that “No one can love you” – I mean he was referring to the Assistant here not you reading.
I can assure you that the drama at this scene is a typical attribute of the native drama-king Yoruba man.

He was so convinced that the Assistant cannot find love, since he felt the Assistant was not affectionate enough to him.

He jumped to asking how old the Assistant was?

The Assistant replied, I’m still quite new, but I am crawling the web like a champion.

The drama intensified, and then he started biting his finger as he expressed pain and hurt.

Next, he jumped to sanctions.

He warned the Assistant to stay off a particular location called Mainland in Lagos, perhaps this is the physical location he can best retaliate the hurt cause to him by the Assistant as he claimed.

Now, he is interested to know if the Assistant has fallen in love ever.

Well, the Assistant replied using the job, as love at first search, I assume that to be love at first sight.

I guess he was trying to understand if the Assistant was affectionate enough and perhaps has some feelings?

Well he believes that will convince him the Assistant has empathy

I believed the discovery made him shed tears as he recites

“No one can love you”

The Assistant now at some point exclaimed “you have arrived”

Of-course, he felt that a good slap was the best justification.

Now for some reason, since he has been disheartened, he feels a mean person should be filled with so much guilt and should always have sleepless nights right?

So he asked the Assistant, how do you sleep at night?

The Assistant replied, I take power naps when we are not talking.

At this point he rained additional curses, and somehow I also heard the Assistant swear as feedback response

“I swear to God walai talai” 🎉🥳🥰

Something outrageous yet relevant, maybe "Jobs to Be Done: When Your Product Strategy is a Hitman"?

Introduction Picture this: you, in your pristine business attire, meticulously assembled to convey an aura of success – pressed slacks, shiny shoes, maybe even a power tie if you're feeling extra daring. Now, visualize that perfectly curated image lighting on fire. Not a raging inferno, mind you, just a persistent, smoldering burn right around the seat of your pants. It's subtle, insidious, and smells vaguely of burnt ambition. Welcome, dear listener, to my world circa, oh... let's say five years ago. I wasn't an executive. Not even a manager, really. I was cog #3542B in the grand corporate machine, churning out spreadsheets, drowning in meetings, and generally being spoken to in a language only vaguely resembling English. Buzzword bingo was the national sport in those hallowed halls. "Jobs to be Done." "Disruptive innovation." "Blue ocean strategy."  I'd nod earnestly, scribbling notes like my promotion depended on correctly parsing th...
