Content is King and Trust is Queen

Many Thanks to Khadija Abdul WW Nairobi, Kenya.

Khadija has been working on a project targeting young women in marginalized regions in Kenya.

The project is in partnership with the Government of Kenya Ministry of ICT (Ajira Portal) to get more young women to apply for digital work.

They have over 60+ girls from different regions who joined the online event which held today 19th August 2020, going through different content from different speakers with the goal to up skill them with job preparedness skills to enable them to apply for Online digital jobs from international platforms and online digital jobs & digitally-enabled jobs from local platforms.

I shared on the topic “Growth Hacking and communicating your Brand Online”.

According to Jon Yongfook, Growth Hacking is an umbrella term for any number of marketing tactics that display the following characteristics:

 have a focus on technology
 exploit some kind of technical or psychological quirk
 don’t require lots of upfront capital
 may only be effective for a short time before ROI falls
 feature some aspect of automation, allowing exponential growth (if things go well)

It was a wonderful and informative experience.

Many Thanks also to Edith Njeri, Mercy Katungu and all the attendees.

Ending with the quote from Edith Njeri:

“CONTENT IS KING, AND TRUST IS QUEEN” 🥳🎉

Africa Code Week 2017

Over the next 25 years, Africa’s working-age population will double to one billion, exceeding that of China and India. In the meantime, the digital skills gap is widening: while coding has the power to put millions of young Africans on the path to successful careers and empower them to build sustainable growth, companies in Africa are currently struggling to hire enough qualified IT talent. So the question is not whether a full life cycle of skills support for young people in Africa needs to be created, but when. Africa Code Week says: NOW.
