Many thanks to the ASNE 2020 Organizing Team and above all Mrs. Emem Opashi Convener Annual Schools Needs Expo (ASNE) www.asne.com.ng 💝
Funny enough, she managed the whole event REMOTELY from somewhere around the planet, but of-course with the miracle of TECH. 🥳
Also, I will like to SPECIALLY Thank ALL School Proprietors/Owners and Guests who sacrificed out of their precious time to listen to whatever noise this “Cute Black Man” 😋🙏☺️ had to make for 60 Minutes (1 Hour) 😂😂
I didn’t take it for granted – 🙏💝☺️
I sincerely appreciate you Sir(s) & Ma(s) and;
God Keep Blessing you’ll with everything good✅ MINUS❎ #Coronavirus or #Covid19 🙏💝☺️💖
ASNE has been the TOP Annual School Needs Exhibition event for over 9 (nine) years now in Nigeria. At the event you can find products, services and resources relevant to schools.
Well, the 10th Anniversary had to be virtual as a result of our interesting friend, which we all aware of – this is not a forum for name-calling… I am not calling that name again! 😂😂
From all across the world were speakers, attendees and also outstanding and engaging sessions.
We stood on the FREE session’s category to focus on schools and businesses and how they can leverage on some great technological tools like the FREE Google Apps.
The topic was titled:
“Transform how your SCHOOL/BUSINESS works with Suite of FREE Google Apps Tools”
We had about 70+ attendees in the categories of school proprietors/owners, IT administrators, teachers, SMB owners e.t.c.
We ended with about 50+ guests in attendance and at peak; we did over 70+ in total.
So, more like we had an average of 50 – 70 guests in attendance overall.
We used Google Meet for the ASNE Virtual Learning Experience with LIVE G Suite for Education APPROVED Account from “The SAGE School” in Maitama, FCT – Abuja.🙏💝☺️💖
Wait! I hope you are not asking why I did NOT (!) use Zoom? 🤔
Well, let me hug🤗 your biases gently and also respond with a subtle peck😘 on the cheek, as I say this:
“Other Trainers, Speakers, and Facilitators did and they enjoyed it”.🥰
But you’ll need to be realistic a bit with my insights.🤔
You mean from the way I have been sounding for years now - forget my obsessive tech advocacy.
Let’s assume I was offered to choose between two (2) options of X. We don’t know what X is for now OK:
Option 1: Something that is used to express sudden fast movement. For example “Zoom”
And;
Option 2: Something that will arrange or happen to come into the presence or company of someone or other people. For example “Meet”
Which one do you’ll think is more ideal and favorable for me?
You have to factor-in some assumptions:
Considering the fact that you’ll aware that I have zero experience in super-super-super fast travel, and I am not in any way related to any SpaceX or NASA’s heroic astronauts?
Why will I travel super-super fast just to hear the adorable sound “Zoom”?😋🤣
Well, I always take the simple approach to things; “Meet” was great for me OK!
I mean “Google Meet” was sufficient for the journey.
The sound “Meet” is soft, gentle and most importantly sooooooooo re-assuring for me, that I will get back home. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💖
And I love the respectful awareness and informative DISCLAIMER prompt that meeting organizers will have to express to guests or attendees at the beginning and during the meeting which says:
“Recording a meeting without the consent of all participants may be illegal and actionable. You should obtain consent to record this meeting from all participants, including external guests and guest who join late.”
For me, I guess it’s a great way to be OPEN and also show that you have no ulterior motive(s) for recording the meeting.✅
If you travel too fast, you might miss things like this! 😋🤣🤣🤣
Anyways! Moving forward:
Many Thanks to Eno Simon (The SAGE School) and “Keep Doing Great Things” with Google Classroom and also G Suite for Education.✅🙏🥰
Reflecting on the quote from Dr. Astro Teller, Google X Labs:
“Sometimes shifting your perspective is more powerful than being smart.”✅
This lens focusing on the power of perspective was the SECRET recipe and also a great booster for SCHOOLS / BUSINESSES to withstand and survive the current tsunami.
