KARMA

I had a lengthy conversation with someone today after a long while, and he was trying to understand my thoughts around “karma”, perhaps if I believe it does exist - of course, 100% and that’s why I treat people respectfully and nicely because you earn good karma, and on the other hand, you know what happens when you do the opposite.

Karma means “like causes produce like effects”, that is, a good deed will lead to a future beneficial effect, while a bad deed will lead to a future harmful effect. The popular definition has to do with reaping what you sow – what goes around comes around.

What goes around comes back around (hey my baby), if you like Beyoncés "Best Thing I Never Had", you are getting closer.

Karma equals “cause and effect” or causality, but also note “correlation does not equal causation”.

"Correlation is not causation" means that just because two things correlate does not necessarily mean that one causes the other. Correlations between two things can be caused by a third factor that affects both of them.

I love this example from Fast Company - who knew that the number of people who drowned by falling into a swimming pool correlates with the number of films Nicolas Cage appeared in? Lol

Everyone carries some form of karmic debt because no one is perfect, and you can always clear them - but also, you will still have to enjoy the ride as you go through the “karmic cycle” - a karmic cycle is a pattern that is meant to teach you a life lesson.

Karma isn’t revenging for every bad thing you might have done. Instead, karma could be seen as a teacher giving you lessons and rewarding you based on your performance - so be nice while you are in the class, and I will advise you to be nice also and respectful to the teacher, she won’t stop at anything until you get the message and pass the test, and you can only know that you are passing when the situation of things around you are improving. There is a reason it is called a life lesson, you learn the lesson with your life.

WARNINGS - Do not attempt to take shortcuts while you are going through the lessons or while you are in the classroom, it makes the teacher more furious and she always increases the workloads every time you attempt to cheat the process.

You can earn karmic debt from countless incidences of violence, destruction, greed, rage, and other negative emotions e.t.c.

According to "Guide to Godhood - The Roadmap to Moksha."

Karmic debt is like financial debt.

They are the particles that stick to our soul whenever we take a favor from someone or force someone to grant the same to us or indulge in acts like stealing, plundering, or corruption.

These particles then, in the short-run may bring us happiness and pleasures and luxuries, but are actually a loan that will bring us pain and misery in the future and cause a lot of difficulties.

Furthermore, just like in the financial world, the capital base of our balance sheet tends to give us pleasures and the base of the loan tend to give us hard times, the same way, in our karmic balance sheet, whenever the assets of good deeds we sowed ripely, they bring for us immense success and happiness and whenever the karmic debts hatch, they bring us pain, misery & failures.

Furthermore, just as in the financial world, the assets we own are not perpetual, and unless we add up to this base by increasing our capital or loans, they are destined to annihilate, the same way, unless we increase the capital base of our good deeds or increase loan portion of our karmic balance sheet, we are prone to lose all the luxuries we are born in.

Furthermore, just as in the financial world, the key to continuous happiness is the maximization of assets and minimization of debts, the same way it's important to continuously increase the base of our karmic assets and continuously strive to reduce and annihilate the base of our karmic debts.

OK, I think you get it now, so how do you know you have karmic debts?

  1. You have a reoccurring negative pattern in your life, such as domestic abuse, addiction, depression, anxiety, money problems, or difficulty with interpersonal relationships. These patterns can range from minor to earth-shattering.

  1. You are drawn to serve others and help them (This can be a sign that you are subconsciously trying to clear a karmic debt involving self-centered behavior or greed since you carry the emotional and spiritual impact of those behaviors forward).

  1. You have a relationship in your life that seems broken, yet you are drawn back to it again and again. This can be a sign that this person’s karmic debt is somehow tied into your own in some way, and that you’ll be required to serve them to clear it.

  1. You are currently dealing with consequences in your current life that point back to your negative patterns and behaviors. This can be a sign that you are accruing negative karma during your lifetime and that you are worsening your karmic debt rather than alleviating it.

Karma isn’t always bad; KARMA IS ALSO GOOD, POURING A BOUNTY OF GREAT REWARDS INTO YOUR LIFE FOR LIVING ACCORDING TO ITS LESSONS.

Thank you.

Something outrageous yet relevant, maybe "Jobs to Be Done: When Your Product Strategy is a Hitman"?

Introduction Picture this: you, in your pristine business attire, meticulously assembled to convey an aura of success – pressed slacks, shiny shoes, maybe even a power tie if you're feeling extra daring. Now, visualize that perfectly curated image lighting on fire. Not a raging inferno, mind you, just a persistent, smoldering burn right around the seat of your pants. It's subtle, insidious, and smells vaguely of burnt ambition. Welcome, dear listener, to my world circa, oh... let's say five years ago. I wasn't an executive. Not even a manager, really. I was cog #3542B in the grand corporate machine, churning out spreadsheets, drowning in meetings, and generally being spoken to in a language only vaguely resembling English. Buzzword bingo was the national sport in those hallowed halls. "Jobs to be Done." "Disruptive innovation." "Blue ocean strategy."  I'd nod earnestly, scribbling notes like my promotion depended on correctly parsing th...
