My style leverages on what is called the Social-Constructivist Theory.

This simply means ideas, philosophies and what is real can be socially construed. This is a great concept used in education for teaching and learning; depending on which school of thought you attended or ideologies you have adapted overtime.

So, it’s really OK for you to call me a “Social-Constructivist”, I know you are not mocking me OK. 🤣🤣

First, I am trying to figure out what Tiwa Savage meant by “49 sitting 99 standing, oh my God o”? 🤔 Anyways…

I have played with some recommender ALGORITHMS just like the ones similar to what Netflix and YouTube offers.

For example: Simon Funk’s famous SVD algorithm as popularized through the Netflix Prize, Normal Predictor, Baseline Only, KNN Basic, KNN With Means, KNN With Z-Score, KNN Baseline, Slope One, Co-Clustering and other Matrix Factorization algorithm like SVD++ and NMF. Movie Lens datasets (100K & 1M)

And, apologies to newbies but this is just like using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheet at a very high-level, that’s it OK.

And for techies (intermediate e.t.c.), if you have played with SQL before: Sorry newbies, SQL stands for Structured Query Language. SQL is used to communicate with databases, in simple words where data is stored, and data can either be “small or big (large)”.

So, this means, for “Small Data” you use “Small Query” and for “Big Data” guess? Now you know why it’s called “Big Query”.😋🥰

After reading the publication, I screamed like the animal in the “Day 5 of Quarantine” video attached to this post.🤣🤣

I am a fan of Jim Rohn, and this rings in my head most times:

I also figured this was what Tiwa Savage meant on the 2nd line of the song 49-99

and she also made a decision on the 4th line

Great song and great emphasis on skills development.

The science behind data or better-still “Data Science” in my view is … wait…

Nigerians will get the message faster with Burna Boy ft Zlatan:

“Je o mo! Popopo popopo popopo popopo popopo po po, Gbe body e, po, Grr, gbese gbese, gbe soul e, Eh eh, Grr, gbese gbese”.

I really can’t tell why Burna Boy & Zlatan were making that funny and weird sound. 🤣🤣 but I guess they also passed across some deep messages.

I have played with Azure Jupyter Notebook, but now I will be doing more using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Colab e.t.c. with Python not(!) R.

I am still thinking why they named the programming language after the name of a poisonous snake. 🐍🤔😋😂

Well, with some time spent in tech, I think comfortably “I can do Novice 🥳 to Ninja 😈” I want to believe so.🥰

Anyways some sales pitch:

My data science skills are from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)✍️. I try to ensure I shop from the best and I really wouldn’t have said this publicly, but Anna Vainer 👩, the founder of #IamRemarkable - I guess whispered, Ade:

a) 49% of the participants experienced job and/or career growth
b) 81% feel more confident
c) 89% become more active in self-promotion

Of-course, I had to whisper back and ask Anna, so does that mean I can also tell them the final score? I imagined she said “YES”.

So, for the program or course at MIT, the size of the class was about 215 professionals in different fields from all over the world. And at last, the Final Score / Grade was 91% overall.😋🥰☺️

Moving to real business now and some reflection on today’s stats about the Corona Virus or COVID-19:

a) Confirmed 1,226,644
b) Cases per 1M people 157.75
c) Recovered 252,658
d) Deaths 66,560

Over 66K people are dead, and the numbers are still rising globally. I want to encourage everyone to use this medium for deep reflection.

Can we just pray that this pandemic Coronavirus or COVID-19 just go away? I found out that even most churches and mosques are closed, that’s VERY VERY DEEP. Even God has installed DMZ firewall on the gateway.😂

I choose to be on this side of history for so many reasons:

a) I believe I have to make some effort and see where it leads. It does not make sense to have certain skill set and not put it to use.

b) I believe also that this is one of the ways I personally can get better in the field of Data Science, Algorithms and Machine Learning. Understand “WHAT YOU DON’T PLANT WON’T MULTIPLY”.

c) Everything in life is a function of CAUSE AND EFFECT, “WILLPOWER AND ACTION NOT PASSIVITY”. You can’t achieve MASTERY in ANY field of interest, if you don’t push yourself TO DO MORE.

d) You cannot be doing the wrong things and expect the right things to happen. And just in case you want to blame it on the village people. Trust me, the village people are also scared of Coronavirus or COVID-19 now, they don’t have your time AT THE MOMENT.

e) These words are to challenge all of us, including me myself:

i. How can I call myself A DEVELOPER and I haven’t written a single line of CODE or better-still;

ii. AN APP that has solved just one (1) single problem only? or;

iii. A Network Engineer, or making the role name juicier, AN INFRASTRUCTURE CONSULTANT, and you don’t know what an RJ-45 is? or 802.11 a,b,g,n or 255.255.0.0? or;

iv. As a LEAD OR MANAGER of any sort, not doing what is expected.

How can the right things happen, HOW? Is that not a case of delusion or denial? "We kill all the caterpillars, and then complain there are no butterflies." - John Marsden

v. It’s possible you have heard the short story of the little girl that asked her dad, why her family couldn’t live like one of her friend’s family from school. The father told the daughter to open her right hand and look at her fingers, and he said “as you can see, all fingers are not equal”. As the little girl was reflecting on those words, she asked back “but dad why do we have to be the shortest?”

vi. It’s our choices and decisions that makes the difference, understand that life is not always filled with the best of ideal conditions.

vii. I believe we were all given a tool, so it’s impossible for you to lose it. It’s either you are not connected to it or you are not developing it.👌

So, irrespective of your discipline, I think you should be doing something meaningful in this pandemic era. For example, supporting people (if possible) in any form, researching solutions to already existing problems, strategies or plans for your own personal business POST COVID-19.

Be sensitive “Things are evolving and things have evolved. You cannot afford to be still, the price you will be paying later will be huge”.👌
